Uyuni Three day Salt Flat and Coloured Mountains Trip.

This is a medium level tour. A little off road experience would help but not essential.

We offer you the most memorable adventure, riding the largest dry salt lake in the world. Combine this with coloured mountains, lagoons with pink flamingos and natural hot springs to bath in and you will have yourself a magical time.

DAY 1

You need to arrive at the tour company office at 9.30a.m.

After kitting you out in your riding gear, we head of to the old historic mining town of Pulacayo.

We explore the town learning about history of this famous old mine.

After we ride back to Uyuni to take lunch at the Sal Negro restaurant.

After lunch we will head towards Cochani where we can learn about the salt processing and have a chance to buy some souvenirs made completely from salt.

We then head to the Salt Flats themselves and ride across the great white desert toward the traditional village of Jirira , here we can see the Volcano Thunupa towering above us. Here we will spend the night in a hostel made of salt.

After taking tea or coffee we walk down to the edge of the salar to see the llamas and flamingos and take photos of the sunset.

Evening meal at 7.00.

Riding distance of 150km.

DAY 2

Today we will wake up and have breakfast at 8.00.

After we ride up the volcano to see the 1000 year old mommies in a cave. From here we have great views over the Salar.

Back on the bikes we ride to Chantani, where we visit the museum and interesting sculpture garden.

Next is Tauha and back onto the Salar. Riding around some magical islands, then off to visit Isla Incahuasi / Fish Island where we can explore and see the giant cacti which sometimes reach over 10 meters tall. There are wonderful views of the salt desert from here and also you can buy lunch in the restaurant "Mongos" located on the island.

After lunch we head back across the Salar to see the Train Cemetery.

Then onto Uyuni and spend the night at Magia de Uyuni Hotel.

Riding distance 140km.

DAY 3

We will take breakfast at 8.00.

Then back on the bikes we head up the ash felt road for 40km.

Then turning of on dirt roads to Tolapampa.

Now we ride through beautiful mountains and coloured lagoons with pink flamingos. We will stop at the natural hot springs to bath and eat our pack lunch. This area is full of natural beauty and full of wild life. Vicuna, llamas, emus, eagles and hawks everywhere.
